Calcium + Vitamin D ®

Each calcium-coated tablet + Vitamin D Shari contains 500 mg of calcium in the form of carbonate salt with 400 units equivalent to 10 micrograms of vitamin D in the form of calciferol (D3).

Pharmacological effects and mechanism of action:

Calcium is an essential element in the function of nerves, muscles and skeletal tissue. There is a high percentage of body calcium in the composition of bone hydroxyapatite. In case of reduction of blood calcium required for biological functions of the body, the reserves in the bone tissue are used. Depending on various conditions such as vitamin D concentration, intestinal pH and nutrition, 25-35% of calcium is absorbed from the small intestine and excreted in the feces and urine. Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that is involved in bone growth and strength by controlling the balance of plasma concentrations of calcium and phosphate. Vitamin D is easily absorbed from the beginning or end of the small intestine and is mainly stored in an inactive form in the liver and adipose tissue. In the liver, during a stage of hydroxylation, it is converted to 25OHD3, and finally, after transfer to the kidney, it becomes its active form, ie calcitriol. Cholesterol is a circulating hormone that regulates blood calcium and phosphate levels through various mechanisms. The presence of vitamin D increases calcium absorption.

Indications:

Prevent, help treat and reduce the symptoms of calcium and vitamin D deficiency

It is used to prevent and help treat rickets in children, osteomalacia (osteoporosis) and osteoporosis (osteoporosis) in adults.

Other uses studied include increasing muscle strength and coordination, helping to treat low blood calcium and phosphate levels caused by various factors (diseases and medications).

prohibited usage:

If you are allergic to calcium carbonate, vitamin D or any of the components of the formulation of this product, do not use it.

Do not use this product if you have hypervitaminosis D, high levels of calcium and blood phosphate.

Side effects:

There are no specific side effects to taking normal amounts of calcium and vitamin D. Excessive or prolonged intake of vitamin D.
It can lead to toxicity. The first signs of toxicity are: thirst, frequent urination, metallic taste in the mouth, nausea and vomiting, anorexia, pain.

Necessary warnings and precautions:

In case of diseases such as atherosclerosis, heart failure, kidney failure, active parathyroid and high levels of calcium and blood phosphate, this product should be used with caution and consult a physician before use.

Avoid consuming excessive amounts of the product for a long time. In case of accidental use of excessive recommended amounts, go to medical centers immediately.

Avoid taking it at the same time as other products containing vitamin D.

Concomitant use with drugs such as neomycin, cholestyramine, liquid paraffin, orlistat may reduce the absorption of vitamin D in this product.

In case of concomitant use with other medicinal products and supplements, consult a doctor or pharmacist. If you are taking antacids, digital glycosides, diltiazem, verapamil, thiazide diuretics, corticosteroids and anticonvulsants, consult your doctor before use.

Concomitant use of calcium-containing products with some medications may reduce the absorption of the drug or calcium-containing product. Therefore, the time interval in taking or other drugs should be observed.

This product is not recommended for people with calcium kidney stones.
