Indications
It is used for very mild to moderate blood pressure control alone or in combination with a thiazide diuretic, as well as in the treatment of severe hypertension that does not respond to other therapies. Captopril is used as an adjunct in heart failure, after myocardial infarction, and in renal impairment in patients with non-insulin dependent diabetes. Captopril is used after myocardial infarction in patients with left ventricular dysfunction as well as in the treatment of diabetic nephropathy.
