Indications
It is used to control anxiety disorders or to relieve anxiety symptoms in the short term and to treat withdrawal symptoms. Injectable diazepam is used as a prodrug to relieve anxiety and stress before surgery. It is also used as an adjunct to intravenous injection to restore normal heart rhythm (CARDIOVERSION) to reduce anxiety. Injectable diazepam is used as an adjunct in the treatment of epileptic seizures and orally in seizure disorders (7-14 days). It is also used as an adjunct in the relief of skeletal muscle spasm.
