Fexofenadine is a class of antihistamines that inhibits the effects of histamine and relieves the symptoms of allergies.
Urticaria is a skin condition that is accompanied by itching and redness. These lesions can be caused by allergies or other causes. If the urticarial lesions remain on the body for more than 6 weeks, they become chronic urticaria. Fexofenadine is also very effective in relieving chronic urticaria
This drug is available in tablets of 30, 60, 120, 180 mg. Also, its foreign type with the brand name of Telest is available in Iran.
Lower doses of this pill (30, 60 mg) are used to treat seasonal allergies and spring colds in children 6 to 12 years old and a dose of 120 mg is used to treat adults.
A dose of 180 is prescribed to treat chronic urticaria.
