Indications
Tinidazole is a 5-nitroimidazole derivative and has similar effects to metronidazole. It is used in the treatment of patients with suspected protozoa, the prevention and treatment of anaerobic bacteria, as well as in the treatment regimens of Helicobacter pylori.
It is usually taken once a day orally before or after. Intravenous and vaginal injection forms are also available in other countries.
