Indications

It is used in the treatment of low blood potassium with or without metabolic alkalosis, in chronic intoxication with digoxin, and in patients with recurrent paralysis with low blood potassium. Potassium supplements to prevent low blood potassium in patients at risk of hypotension, as well as in patients with cirrhosis of the liver with ascites, high aldosterone with normal renal function, diarrhea, prolonged vomiting and depleting nephropathy. It is used in children undergoing long-term treatment with adrenocorticoids.
