Indications
Dexamethasone is used as an alternative treatment for adrenal insufficiency. It is also used in the symptomatic treatment of inflammatory and allergic disorders and to suppress the immune system. Dexamethasone is used in congenital adrenal hyperplasia, cerebral edema, shock of rheumatic inflammatory diseases, as well as for the diagnosis of Cushing’s syndrome and endogenous depression.
